TEACHING

I have been teaching private voice lessons for over 10 years to students of all ages. I have a wide range of experience teaching classical, jazz and commercial voice styles. Some of my significant training in teaching voice includes a Bachelor's degree in Classical Voice from the University of Wyoming, and a Master of Music and Doctor of Arts in Jazz Voice from the University of Northern Colorado with a focus on Vocal Pedagogy. I am also trained in Level I of Somatic Voicework™  which is a Contemporary Commercial Voice training program run by Jeanie LoVetri, and attend regular teacher training workshops through this same SVW platform.

PHILOSOPHY

​

I strongly believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching and studying voice (no matter the style), and I am prepared and excited to help you achieve whatever personal vocal and musical goals you have, whether you are a music professional or a hobbyist. Our plan of study together can be directed at any of the following based on your goals and priorities:
 

  • Vocal function and technique

  • Aural skills/ear training

  • Improvisation 

  • Theory

  • Style and performance

  • Arrangements

  • Music business consultation/getting the gig
